Soft Gel Tips Class June 2026

Join our class June 18th 2026 from 1pm to 5pm. The class is free and great for those learning how to do their own nails at home. Approx. 1 hour sessions, first-come, first-served.

Come learn how to prep the nails, find sizes, shape, and to apply them. 

What should you bring? Can polish if you want the nails painted. But just come with bare nails ready for the class!

Steps:

1. Push back cuticle and sand the natural nails to prep. This helps create a rough area for the nails to stick. Also to clean up any cuticle that is stuck on the nails. 

2. Find sizes for the nails, making sure each nail fits side to side wall. Drill the back of the gel tip to allow better adhesion. 

3. Prep the nail with dehydrator then an acid free primer. Add extend gel to the back of the gel tip and go at an 45 degree angle to your natural nail and cure with flash cure lamp. Do it again with the rest of 1 hand. 

4. Do a full cure with a LED lamp. Once the hand is fully cured (at least 60 seconds in LED, 90-120 seconds for UV lamp) do the step before again for the other hand and do a full cure.

5. Cut and file to preferred length/shape if needed. File at the cuticle area to look flush to the natural nail. Take a brush and apply acetone to the cuticle area to allow melting of the gel tip to look even more natural. The nail can be buffered to allow polish to stay on. 

6. Add polish and designs wanted and finish with a top coat. 

7. Finished!

Recommendations: 

• The tip is not staying on with the glue or your prep isn't as strong? Apply dehydrator, acid free primer, then before adding the tips, do a base gel and full cure to allow the natural nails to have a sticky layer. 
• Instead of buffing the nails in step 5, you can use the sanding band and go over the nails instead. Make sure to sanding a bit so the tips are not thinned down. 
• Cut too much and the apex is lost on the tips? Or want a thicker nails? Apply a rubber base to allow a bit of thickness, or builder to do more of an acrylic look. 
• Can we skip the full cure with a bigger lamp? No we can't. If you skip the full cure, it can cause early lifting and not the nails fully cured. This can lead to allergies to the product and product not being cured which can lead to air pockets. 
• Extend gel/glue is hot when flash curing? It is called a heat spike and it normal. It can happen with top/base coat. Go in and out of the flash cure, by putting the nail close to the flash cure lamp, then when hot moving it away for a couple seconds until better. Then put back into the lamp to make sure the nail is adhered.
